Facial expressions are among the most universal forms of body language. The expressions used to convey fear, anger, sadness, and happiness are similar throughout the world.
Look at the picture on the left. Twelve different expressions for the same individual. Can you identify and name each expression?
Emotions that can be expressed via facial expressions include:
The face is made up of the eyes, nose and mouth and ears. Its safe to say that the ears do not aid in sending non verbal signals. However, if we were to go back to the picture on the left, we would see that the eyes and mouth play a major role, while the nose plays a more subtle role. Head tilting is also seen here.

Look yourself in your mirror at home. Now imagine situations for each of the ten emotions described above. Observe your facial expressions for each of the emotions. Pay special attention to your eyes and mouth. As you go through the emotions, don't forget to take note of 'crease' lines which appear and where they appear.
